ALLEN, James Oliver " Age 59, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2006. He was born on April 8, 1946, in Myrtle Point, Oregon, the son of Bud and Myrtle (Cole) Allen. After high school James served in the Vietnam Conflict from 1963 until 1967 with the U.S. Marines. James was a member of the Winston VFW at one time. He loved logging, the outdoors, deep-sea fishing, hunting, playing pool and he very much enjoyed time spent with family and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Allen; sons, Randy Allen of Salem, Oregon; Chris Allen of Glide, Oregon; mother-in-law, Alice Bishop; five grandchildren, Jim Bob; Briana; KayLynn; Aleah and Morgan; four sisters, Nancy Smith; Debbie Bissonnette; Ora Cockrum and Ann Holloway; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his dad, Bud; mother, Myrtle; step-father, Hank Gilbert; nephew, Joseph Smith; and son, Kevin Allen. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Tenmile Cemetery. Following the service everyone is invited to the Winston VFW Hall for a gathering. Friends and family may come pay their respects on Friday, January 20, 2006, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Taylor's Family Chapel.
