Fairfield resident, Marlene J. Palmer, 78, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Celebration of Life will be Monday, April 14, 2014; 11:00 A.M. at Fairfield Community Church, Fairfield with Pastor Steve Deines officiating. Private family burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, Nebraska. No viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Fairfield Community Church.

Marlene was born July 13, 1935 in Hastings, Nebraska to Dick & Margie (Anderson) Bohlen. She lived in Spring Ranch, Nebraska. At seven she moved with her family to Fairfield where she lived the rest of her life. She attended Kearney State Teacher's College and received her teaching certificate. She taught at Mulberry Grove School west of Fairfield. She married Gerald "Doodle" Palmer September 12, 1954. She was a stay at home mom and homemaker. She was active in her church, school and community. She was an avid sports fan especially University of Nebraska teams. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her sister, Lila and her parents.
