The son of Karl E. and Rosie E. Crowl, he attended the country school in Butler and spent much of his youth helping on the family farm.

He met his future wife, Jo, at the Vicksburg country church. He was inducted into the Army in 1945 and served in World War II and in the occupational forces in Korea. After his discharge in 1947, he returned to Clinton.

Bud married Arlee Jo Morris 16 Feb, 1947. Soon afterward, he was named Midwest Farmers Co-op manager and Jo became the co-op bookkeeper. Both took intensive accounting classes at Cameron College and Bud took more work in Enid in such areas as management. He spent 38 years there.

Bud also was a Scoutmaster. He served on the Custer County Excise Board. He volunteered at the Route 66 Museum, studied his Bible and visited with friends over coffee.

He was preceded in death by his browhters, Buster and Ralph Crowl, a sister, Ethel Gossman, a son, Steve Crowl and his wife of 64 years.

The family asked that any donations be made to the First Christian Church of Clinton or the charity of one's choice.
