Sarah Daggett File Dies at Son?s Home North Honey Bend
Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Daggett File, widow of John C. File, and a resident of Montgomery county for 50 years, died this morning at 3:25 o'clock in the home of her son, George File, north of Honey Bend. She was 89 years old last July 11.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Robert Daggett, she was born in Pocahontas, Bond county. She married John Charles File in Missouri in 1885. They moved to Raymond 50 years ago where Mr. File died in 1914. Eleven children were born to the couple, three having died in infancy.
Mrs. File resided with her daughter, Mrs. Harry Garard at Raymond, for the last eight years, going to the home of the son in Honey Bend a few weeks ago where she was to spend the winter.
Surviving children are Mrs. John Matli, Mrs. Bessie Krager and Mrs. Harry Garard, all of Raymond; Mrs. Edward Flynn, Lincoln Park, Mich.; George File, Honey Bend; James File, Norfolk, Va.; Miss Fern File, New York City, and Mrs. Edwin Fritsche, Mt. Olive; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Buchmiller of Highland, Ill. Two brothers, George and Chancey Daggett, preceded her in death.
The body was taken to Hough funeral home at Raymond for funeral arrangements.
Services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o?clock in Raymond Christian church. Rev. Charles Hudson, assisted by Rev. Ray Goodwin, will officiate and interment will be in Raymond cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home.
