Faye E. Blase, of Leawood, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, three days after celebrating her 90th birthday. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 12th, 11:00 a.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. A reception and visitation will be from 12:00 p.m., to 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow. Faye was born April 6, 1924, in Whitesboro, Texas to William and Emma Boaz. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, two half-sisters, her husband of 53 years, Virgil L. Blase, and son Kenneth. Faye worked in the Provost General's office in Fort Worth, Texas, before marrying Virgil. They lived in Olathe, KS for more than 30 years. Faye lived the last five years of her life at Grace Gardens Manor in Leawood, KS. She is survived by her son, Jim Blase and wife Michelle of Stilwell, KS; her daughter, Joy Hoffman and husband Ron of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Teresa LaRose (Larry), Jeff Blase (Kobi), Jennifer McMillan (Travis), Stephen Hoffman (Gloria); and 15 great-grandchildren.
