Mabel Dibbern

Mabel Leota Dibbern, 94, Topeka, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at a Topeka nursing home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1906, at Meriden, the daughter of Floyd Everett and Myrtle Iona Cochran Banta. She graduated from Delia High School in 1924. She and her husband farmed near Delia for many years.

She married Henry Dibbern on June 4, 1924, in Delia. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1996. A son, Harold Dibbern, preceded her in death in 1970, and a daughter, Shirley Ross, died in 1994.

Survivors include a son, Floyd Dibbern, Topeka; three daughters, Louise Brandenburg, Topeka, Avis Bratton, Collinsville, Okla., and Geneva Whitfield, Mishawaka, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Dibbern will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart of America Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
