George Hollenback married Sophia Sidle, June 5, 1817 in Muskingum county, Ohio.

Inscription

Born in Mononochala now of Mario Co., VA., May 1792. Removed to Ill. in 1829. Made the first farm in Kendall Co. 1831. Was drive away by hostile savages and with loss of most of his property and sasved the lives of his family and himself by extraordinary courage and presence of mind May 16, 1831. Returned the following Autumn with indomitable energy retrieved his losses and acquired and ample competence. Reared a large family in credit and comfort. Attained a good old age and died Nov. 20, 1869. He was an affectionate husband, a kind father, a faithful friend, a good neighbor, a true patient, a brave large hearted man. Filial affection rears his monument.
