Born June 23, 1927, in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Henry A. McBride and Anna Kurtz-McBride. Lillian graduated with a B.S. degree in Physics from Chestnut Hill College in 1949. She was the wife of the late George William Jacobs who died October 9, 1999.
Lillian was a devout Catholic and had over a 20 year career in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as a high school math and physics teacher. While raising six children she taught at the former Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA before completing her career at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, PA. After retiring, she moved to Sykesville and gave generously to many different charities.
She is survived by her sons, James and his wife Pam, Kevin and his wife Ann, Bryan and his wife Rita, and her daughter Eileen Jacobs-Brady. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved children: Deborah Jacobs-Welsh (9/11) and William Henry Jacobs (1976). (Deborah died in the crash of flight 93 in Pennsylvania)
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am in the Fairhaven Chapel, 7200 Third Avenue, Sykesville. Interment will be the following day in Calvary Cemetery, Upper Merion, PA.
A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11 am at St. John Chrysostom Church, 615 South Providence Road, Wallingford, PA. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Upper Merion, PA. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
