"John" Randolph Thomas is oldest son and fifth child of seven children born to James Jefferson "Jeff" "J.J." Thomas and Susan Matilda "Sis" TRAMMEL Thomas.

John first married "Lucy" Elizabeth VICK of Breckinridge, Stevens County, Texas. Lucy is daughter of Joseph Henry "Joe" Vick and Susan E. SIKES Vick. Lucy's siblings include Hugh Odie Nathanial Vick, William Fletcher Vick, Addie Bell Vick (Mrs. William S. Hatcher), Bennie "Bunny" Vick, Christopher Columbus "Lum" Vick, Robert Elbert "Bob" Vick, Julia Caroline "Carrie" Vick (Mrs. William Thomas Fincher), and Sarah Ethel Vick (Mrs. Newbern Alexander Richardson).

John and Lucy's children are Joseph "Howard" Thomas, "Kenneth" Randolph Thomas, "James" Lowell Thomas, and Vivian "Hermoine" THOMAS Hall (her daughter Patsy states she changed her name to Hermoine Vivian).

After Lucy's death, he married his childhood sweetheart Claudia Melissa "Melissie" McCLURE Davis Fitzgerald. Aunt Melissie is on the same headstone with Uncle John but is not buried here. She is buried somewhere in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She told Mama Dimp that she wanted one day when she passed on to be buried next to Uncle John. Mama Dimp offered to pay to bring her home. Her son refused this request.

Uncle John and Aunt Melissie had no children from their union.

Rest in Peace, great great uncle Uncle John.
