ALQUIST: The news of the death of Mrs. Jennie Alquist of Exeter township was a sad surprise to many of her friends who did not know of her illness. She was taken sick on Monday with pneumonia and died Sunday morning at 3 o'clock. Jennie Dill was born in Dilltown, Pa., in the year 1859 and came to Clay Center twenty-three years ago where she made her home till her demise. Last June she was married to Albert Alquist and by her death at the age of forty-nine years breaks up a hitherto happy family of a few months standing. She was a sister to Mrs. A. Buchmann and Sam Dill of this city and until the time of her marriage made her home with her aged mother and brother. She is survived by her mother, three sisters and three brothers. She was a lady highly respected by all her acquaintances.
The funeral was held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at east Exeter church, Rev. Parlett conducting the services. The burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.
