Merkie lily Hardy was born in chilton county,alabama to Henry and Mary jane Hardy. they were farmers. she married John buck Baker at 16 years old. they had at least 3 children possibly 4. John dies after the last child was born. In the 1910 census she was listed as a widow living with her parents. in 1917 she married John Wallace and they lived in Jefferson county according to the 1920 census. they eventually moved to Douglasville Georgia where she remained until her death. John Wallace was my great grandfather
