Following his death in 1918 the 1920 census has the mother & two children living on Summerville Road in Rose, Jefferson County, PA. It looks like they live next door to Mable's parents Wilson M. & Elizabeth A. Cochran, who own a farm. It may be a brother, David, who lives on the other side of them.

In the 1936 City Directory for Falls Creek, PA Mabel is a teacher at Falls Creek Public Schools, listed as a widow of Edwin. At the same address are Betty E. a nurse and Paul W. a pottery worker at Jackson Vitrified China Co.
