Tyler will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Brandon Baade officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the graveside service at Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Baade passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Tyler. He was born April 30, 1926, in Dallas to Albert E. Baade Sr. and Jewell Bryant Baade. Albert married Elizabeth "Sis" Hill Baade on Sept. 1, 1949. He proudly served in the Pacific Theater in World War II and served aboard the USS Ticonderoga, earning two battle stars and was 200 miles off the coast of Japan when the atomic bomb was dropped. He was a 1950 graduate of Baylor University. Albert was a founding member of the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen and original board member of The Tyler Petroleum Club. He began in the oil business as an oil scout with his uncle W.T. Bryant and became an outstanding landman. He was the dean of Continuing Education at Tyler Junior College, developing and organizing the curriculum for the real estate and petroleum landman program at TJC. He was a Rotary award recipient at Dixie Elementary and had perfect attendance as well. Mr. Baade was a loving husband of 64 years and a wonderful father, grandfather and greatgrandfather.
Albert had a contagious and optimistic spirit in the face of declining health and was an encourager to all, especially his family. He always had a joke to tell and he approached his health adversities with an unparalleled example of wit and grace. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baade was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth "Sis" Baade, and faithful childhood dog, Buddy. He is survived by son, William Brandon Baade, of Tyler; grandchildren, Brandon Ashley Baade and wife Lindsey Newton, of Tyler, Carolyn Michelle Hudiburgh, of Bryan, and Alexandra Elizabeth Baade, of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Savannah Grace Hudiburgh and William Collins Hudiburgh; and brother, Harold Baade and wife Lowitta, of Henderson. Pallbearers will be Brandon Ashley Baade, Randy Murphy, Ross Murphy, David Murphy, Trey Crook, John Cain, Jermey Parnell and Paul Breedlove. .
