Funeral service for Bettie Ann Blomgren, 91, of Midwest City, Oklahoma will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Sooner East Church of Christ, Midwest City, Oklahoma with Bob Bethke, minister of Siloam Springs, Arkansas officiating.

Mrs. Blomgren passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Midwest City.

Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church in Midwest City.

Bettie Ann was born on November 23, 1922 in Asherville, Kansas to Bird F. and Clara E. (Maxwell) Abram. She attended school in Beloit, Kansas where she graduated from high school in 1940. She then attended Hays, Kansas Teacher College. While attending there, she received an appointment in Washington D.C. with the Adjutant General's Office where she met Don. She married Donald A. Blomgren on July 18, 1943 at First Christian Church in Beloit, Kansas. Mr. Blomgren passed away on May 17, 1994. Bettie worked as an office secretary for many insurance companies in Lawton. Bettie was a volunteer at Southwestern Medical Center for 10 years. She was also a member of the Morning Optimist Ladies Auxiliary Club and a deaconess at Liberty Heights Christian Church. She sang in the Choir at Liberty Heights Christian Church and at First Christian Church. She lived in Texas for a while before moving to Midwest City.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters in law, John and Charlene Blomgren, of Midwest City, James and Mary Ann Blomgren, of Norman, and Joel Blomgren of Edmond, Oklahoma; her sister in law, Elizabeth Blomgren, of Joplin, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren with one on the way and a host of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; her son, Jerry Blomgren; and grandson, Brian Blomgren and her sisters, Frances Robbins and Edra Pluta.
