RUTLAND – Stephen H. Reando, Jr., 85, passed away at home on Monday, October 8, 2012 after an illness.

His wife of 52 years, M. Ruth (Brown) Reando, passed away in 1999. He leaves two sons, Stephen H. Reando III and his wife Carol of Melbourne, Florida and Kevin M. Reando and his wife Judith of Worcester; a sister, Lenore Armstrong of Worcester; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. Three sons, Dennis, Sean and Thomas Reando and a sister, Dolores Miller predeceased him.

Stephen was born in Biddeford, Maine, the son of Stephen H. and Cecelia R. (Tierney) Reando, Sr. and lived in Rutland for over 30 years. He graduated from North High School in Worcester and later served his country as a Hospital Apprentice 2nd Class for the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a pipe fitter for Union Local 4 in Worcester for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Rutland and the Paxton American Legion Post 306.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Funeral services for Mr. Reando will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the funeral home followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main Street, Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760.
