ELECTRA - William P. "Red" Burton, 77, a resident of Electra for 55 years, formerly of Olney, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Electra.
Services Monday, July 29, 2002, at First Baptist Church, Electra, with the Rev. Jack Riley, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park.
Mr. Burton was born May 7, 1925, in Olney. He married Edith Faye Kirk on Oct. 29, 1945, in Olney. He was a member of First Baptist Church and VFW in Electra. He was a veteran and a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Faye (Kirk) Burton of Electra; four daughters, Lynda Kimbro, Glenda Hernandez and Brenda Fitts, all of Electra, and Gay Graham of Amarillo; a brother, Billy Wayne Burton of Granbury, Texas; a sister, Johnnie Bell Burton of Corpus Christi, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William P. Burton Sr., his mother, Zora Bell (Cargyle) Burton, and a son, Mackey Larry Burton.
