Son of William Dampier & Jennie A. Bunker. Raised in Minneapolis, MN. Married Blanche M. McKay 6/26/1901 Otter Tail County, MN. Had daughter Dorothy 1/11/1903 Otter Tail County, MN. Lawyer 1905 in Akeley, MN. Elected as Hubbard County Attorney fall of 1906. The Akeley and Bemidji newspapers loved him for his effective way of carrying out the job. He was a skilled orator and writer. He was running for Hubbard County Attorney's office again. The newspapers were championing him for running for the Senate. Suddenly he resigned in Sept 1909 and said he was moving west. Divorces Blanche. Marries Adelaide Brewster 12/3/1910 Bannock, Idaho. Adelaide is the daughter of Joseph Edward Brewster of New York and Mary Agnes Lyons; Adelaide born Fisher, Polk County, MN. She was a teacher in Idaho. After they married they lived in Rupert, Idaho. He was an attorney and she was Superintendent of Lincoln County schools. He helped the creation of a new county out of Lincoln County.
