DURAND - Elizabeth C. "Betty" Talley Beyer, 86, of Durand died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday [Monday] Dec. 19, 2005, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born March 1, 1919, in Roscoe, the daughter of Oscar and Jessie (McMakin) Miller. Lived in the Durand area for almost 65 years. Worked at Amerock Corp. and later a Medina Nursing Home. She married Max Howard Talley May 25, 1940, in Pipestone, Minn.; he died Nov. 3, 1972. She married Benjamin Beyer Sr. in Reno, Nev., June 13, 1975; he died May 31, 1986. Betty graduated from from Rockford High School, Class of '37. Survivors include daughters, Carolyn (Everett) James of DuQuoin, Donna (Donald) Moore of Machesney Park; son, Howard (Judy) Talley of Winnebago; daughter-in-law, Pat Talley of Durand; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Peters, Daniel Peters, Jeanine (Matt) De Guseppi, Denise (Jeff) Leonard, Brian (Janine) Talley, Scott Talley, Christine Magee, Susan (Mike) Simons and Thomas (Renee) Moore; 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Also predeceased by parents; son, Walter Talley; grandson, Michael Moore; four brothers and a sister.
Funeral ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main St., Durand, with Pastor Jeffery Tjader of Cornerstone Foursquare Church, Durand, officiating. Burial in Roscoe Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, Dec. 21.
