Goldsboro, Jan. 8.-Hugh Maxwell 31, nephew of Hugh G. Maxwell, of Goldsboro and of Commissioner A.
J. Maxwell, of Raleigh, was killed in Norfolk, Va., at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, when he stepped from one train directly in front of another.
Mr. Maxwell was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther R. Maxwell, of Wilmington, R. F. D. He was flag man for the Belt Line at Norfolk. At the news of his death on Tuesday his parents and other relatives came at once to Goldsboro, where the body will be sent for burial.
Surviving are his parents and two sisters, Mrs. James Mitchell, of New Bern, and Mrs. C.T. Murray near Wilmington. Funeral and interment will take place in Goldsboro, the old home of the Maxwells,
sometime Thursday.
