He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 20, 1936 to the late Thomas F. and Nell M. (Nowell) Brinnon. Richard worked as a steelworker, until the effects of severe arthritis prevented him from doing so. He moved to Delaware in 1976 from West Jefferson, becoming an active member of St. Mary Church and Parish community. For many years he also served as both a cantor and soloist, in additional to volunteering to help with any church activity.
With many interests, at one time he tinkered with ham radio. He also played the bag pipes for over 50 years. He had a loving and caring heart. Richard will be remembered for his friendly nature, ornery smile, and deep and abiding faith.
Those whom survive him include daughter Karen Ann Morrison, several grandchildren including Jeremiah and Gabriel, great-grandchildren, as well as the extended St. Mary Parish Community.
He was preceded by the love of his life, Letitia M. (Winkler) Brinnon, whom he deeply cared for and took the best in care of; she preceded him in death on September 12, 1993.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday with Rosary services at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, 82 E. William Street, Delaware, with Rev. Daniel Ochs Celebrant.
