U.S. Congressman. Moving with his parents to Braddock Pennsylvania in 1880, he attended St. Thomas School, was employed as a newspaper reporter (1891-96) and became owner-publisher of the Braddock Pennsylvania Journal in 1896. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives (1933-35). In 1935, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth and Seventy-fifth Congresses, serving until 1939. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the newspaper publishing business, until his death.
