Edward Kohl, early settler has passed away. Edward Kohl, one of Madison country's early settlers passed away at his home about ten miles west of Madison last Saturday, June 2, at the age of 53 years, two months and 20 days. His death was caused by inflamatory rheumatism and an attack of pleurisy and other complications. He was born in Wisconsin March 12, 1870 and came to Nebraska with his parents in 1874 and settled on the homestead on which he has resided all his life. He was married to Margaret Boysen in the year 1897. To this union was born five children of which four are still living, the death of the other occuring in 1911. His wife died in May, 1906. Those remaining to mourn his death are Mrs. Rose Freiburg of Stanton, Mrs. Martha Giboo, Leonard and Henry Kohl of Humphrey. In July 1908 he married Nellie Warnke, six children being born from that union. Hazle, Bennie, Tena, Joseph, reihard and Josephine. There is also a step-daughter, Grace. Besides these there are three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church. The services being conducted by Rev. Hackman of Columbus and Rev. Sager of Plainview. The burial was at the Kalamazoo Cemetary. His brothers are Albert Kohl, Meadow Grove; Will and Herman Kohl of Humphrey and his sisters, Mrs. Adam Sey, Lindsay and Mrs. Mary Gronan, Sisseton, South Dakota
