From an obituary in the Clute, Texas newspaper "The Facts" on 22 October 1997:

"Funeral services for Nolan Ray Blair, 58, of Clute, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 1997, at the Clute Church of Christ with Mr. Ron Lloyd officiating.
Burial will be in Restwood Cemetery.
He passed away Monday, October 20, 1997, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., today, October 22, 1997, at Stroud Funeral Home.
Mr. Blair was born October 21, 1938 in Navasota, Texas, and was a lifetime resident of Clute. He retired as a pipefitter from Dow after 14 years of service.
Mr. Blair was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Blair of Clute; daughters, Shirley Pawelka and husband Dean of Clute, Pam Hinson and Bobby of Brazoria and Amanda Davenport and husband, Terrance of Angleton; son, Jeff Blair and wife, Stacey of Plano; brothers, J.B. Blair and wife, Beverly of Arvada, Colorado, Claude Blair and wife, Emma of Houston and L.E. Blair of Houston; grandchildren, Eric Nolan Davenport, Chelsea Pawelka, Jennifer Pawelka, Caitlin Blair and Courtney Blair; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dean Pawelka, Bobby Hinson, Terrance Davenport, John Knowles, Royce Courts and Claude Blair, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Clute Church of Christ and lifelong friends, Tom Quarles, J.L. Sobotik, Willie Martin, Jabe Morie and Eric Nolan Davenport.

Nolan was the youngest of the four sons of Virgil Hill Blair and Mittie Alma Mosley Blair.
