She attended rural Callaway County schools and later took secretarial training. Before her marriage she was a secretary at Katz Drug in Kansas City, Missouri.
Liz married Belton Clay "Woody" Woods at Central Christian Church in Clovis, New Mexico on December 30, 1950. They traveled to numerous job sites in the southwestern United States for his work as a boilermaker. In the late 1960's, they settled in Tucson, where they enjoyed the climate and visits from family escaping cold weather 'back home'.
Liz was a member of First Christian Church and was very active in several church groups, especially the thrift shop. She raised African violets and sewed many of her clothes. Throughout her life she kept up a written correspondence with her sister Edna and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Edna Vaughan of Holt's Summit, Missouri and sister-in-law, Kathryn Klick of Fulton, Missouri. Survivors include her husband, brothers, Martin Klick of Fulton, Missouri and Bill {Mary McKern} Klick of Jefferson City, Missouri and sister Betty Jewel 'Pruitt' {Charles} Spears of St. Paul, Minnesota and seven nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous members of her husband's family, including a brother-in-law and wife, Roy and Daphene Woods, and their children and grandchildren of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
A visitation was held in Tucson for her Arizona friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2008, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel in Shawnee, Oklahoma with visitation prior to the service. DeWayne Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery near Dale, Oklahoma.
