She was sister to:

2. Virginia Pearl Mills Cole

Leola married Johnnie Odell Edwards and they lived in Cooleemee, North Carolina. Family records show no children of this marriage.
Leola was very instrumental in getting a headstone for her grandfather, Benjamin Mills, placed at his grave in the Keaton Mills Cemetery in Egeria, WVA.

Leola Faye Edwards 89, of Mocksville, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Born March 25, 1921, she is the daughter of Beulah Ann Foley Mills and the late Perlie Mills.
Leola enjoyed painting and songwriting. She was a 1938 graduate of Stoco High School in Lego, West Virginia.
Leola was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her father, Leola is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Edwards; sister Virginia Mills-Cole and brother James E. Mills.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Bonnie Mills-Cole of Shady Spring; brother David Mills and wife Vivian of Blackshear, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Elder Keith Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 11 – 12 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
