Wilka was born May 22, 1932, in Pascagoula to Guy Vincent and Bertha Browne Ros and had been a resident of Pascagoula her entire life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and considered her family her greatest accomplishment in life.
Wilka was a graduate of Our Lady of Victories High School and a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church her entire life, receiving the Lumen Christi "Light of Christ" award from the Diocese of Biloxi in 2009 for her witness in faith by her service to others as a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, OLV Bereavement chairman, and member of the OLV Altar Society.
Mrs. Cauley was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Bertha Ros, one brother, Guy Ros Jr., and two sisters, Alda McGrath and Jane Whisenant. Also preceding her in death were her sons, Gary, Michael, and Scott Cauley and her daughter, Martha "Didge" Brown.
She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, John B. Cauley, Sr., and her children; Katherine Ory, Virginia (Gary) Broadus, and John Cauley, Jr., all of Pascagoula, and Tammy Williams and Wendy (Chris) Stone of Hudson, Florida. Also surviving MawMaw are 21 grandchildren and their respective spouses and 19 great-grandchildren which she considered her gift to the world, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, with Rosary at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula, where she was baptized over 81 years ago. Father Tony Arguelles will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
