Goldsboro.-James Sydney Adams, 53, of Goldsboro, died at the Goldsboro Hospital at 11:30 Wednesday
night of heart trouble following an operation ten days ago for ruptured appendix.

Mr.Adams was born in Pitt County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Adams. He moved toWayne County as a boy.For the past 27 years, until his retirement last year, he had been an employee of the Norfolk and Southern Railway, and prior to that was connected with the
Atlantic Coast Line for five years.
He was a member of St. Paul Methodist
Church, of the Masons, Shriners,
and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

He was well known and had many friends. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was
MissBlanche Bacon; a daughter, Miss Celeste Adams; a sister, Mrs.J. W. Ward of Goldsboro, and four broth-ers, Ben, John, and Will Adams of Wayne County and Charlie Adams of New Jersey.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 11 o'clock Friday morning. Interment will be
in Willow Dale Cemetery.
