PROCTOR - Brianna Marie Bailey-Dodge, 30, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the home of her mother and special father in Proctor, VT, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Hanover, NH, August 2, 1983, the daughter of Sheila Bowley-Krause and Robert Bailey.
Brianna attended schools in Hanover, NH, and graduated from the University of Montana in 2006. She earned her master's degree in education at the University of Vermont in 2008. Her first teaching job was at Newfound Memorial School in Bristol, NH, and more recently at Waits River Valley School in Corinth, VT.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Dodge of Burlington; her mother, Sheila Bowley-Krause and husband, William Krause of Proctor; her father, Robert Bailey of Etna; two brothers, BenJamin Bailey of Livingston, Montana, and Brendan Bailey of Etna, NH; her maternal grandfather, John F. Bowley of Hartland, VT; her Uncle John (Butch) and Aunt Audrey; her Uncle Tom and Aunt Gay of Alaska; her Aunt Sue of Burlington; her Aunt Shelly and Uncle Greg from Pomfret, VT; her Aunt Carol and Uncle Bill from Newbury, VT; and her Uncle Jack and the late Aunt Nan from Norwich, VT. She also has several loving cousins.
Brianna cherished her dog "Pedey" and cat "Zula," and loved the great outdoors. She enjoyed hiking and skiing in Vermont and Montana. She participated and volunteered her time with the Adaptive Ski Program in Bolton and Pico, VT.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family.
A celebration of her life for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Mount Philo State Park in Charlotte, VT, from noon to 3 p.m., with a rain date of June 8. More information and notices will be forthcoming.
