Walter Franklin (Franky) Grinstead, Jr. age 62, of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away on March 31, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services were held on April 4, 2014, in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Orange Hill Cemetery. Mr. Grinstead was a native of Bibb County, Ga., but had lived most all of his life in Pulaski County. He was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church where he was a member of the Auditorium Sunday School Class. He was a self-employed certified electrician and air conditioning specialist. Franky was a former member of the Ga. Army National Guard and the Pulaski Day Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Grinstead, Sr. and father-in-law, C. P. Patton. Franky had a great love for music and playing the guitar with his friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his four wonderful grandsons and family. He was a great caretaker to his wife of 37 years. Survivors include his wife, Debbie P. Grinstead; son, Christopher (Stephanie) Grinstead, all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; mother, Louise Grinstead Whelchel; sister, Susan G. Paulson, both of Hawkinsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Landon Grinstead, Collin Grinstead, Logan Grinstead, Carson Grinstead, all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; mother-in-law, Joyce G. Patton, sister and brother-in-law, Ed and Cathy McDaniel, Jr., all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; niece, Tiffany McDaniel of Athens, Ga. and nephew Jonathan McDaniel of Hawkinsville, Ga.; nieces Christy (Terry) Grigsby of Eads, Tenn., Kelly (Jon) Graham of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Melanie (Brad) Alexander of Allen, Texas; uncles, Robert Grinstead, Jr. of Kinner, Louisiana and Wendell (Beth) Oaks of Milledgeville, Ga.; aunts, Joan Vaughn, Doris, Grenade, Faye Grenade, all of Eastman, Ga.; several cousins and his beloved pet, Zoe.
