W. M. ROOSEVELT, 77, STOCKBROKER

William Morrow Latrobe Roosevelt, 77, a retired stockbroker, died yesterday at Chestnut Hill Hospital. He lived in Whitemarsh.

He was the son of the late Henry Latrobe Roosevelt, who was a cousin of former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and was a member of his cabinet as assistant secretary of the Navy.

Mr. Roosevelt spent his early years at Roosevelt Hall, Skaneateles, N.Y., and in Washington. He attended the Pomfret School in Windham, Conn., and earned a degree in English at Princeton University.

Mr. Roosevelt was in the investments business and was associated with W. H. Newbold's Sons & Co. until his retirement seven years ago.

He served with the Marines in the Pacific during World War II. He was discharged with the rank of major.

Mr. Roosevelt had been active on the board of the Pennsylvania School for the Blind and was a member of the Sunnybrook Golf Club and the State on Schuylkill.

His wife, Gwendolyn St. Barbe Harrison Gatewood Roosevelt, died in November. Surviving are his brother, Henry Latrobe Roosevelt, and a sister, Eleanor Wadsworth.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Church in Whitemarsh. Burial will be in the cemetery there.
