Herbert Burnham Hartshorne, of Brandywine View, East Bradford Township, husband of the late Ruth Guthrie Hartshorne, died Tuesday morning at the Pocopson Home, where he had been a patient for nine months.
Born in Hammongton, N.J., he was the son of Thomas and Lizzie Jewett Hartshorne.
Mr. Hartshorne was a retired painting contractor. He had resided in the West Chester area over 60 years. He was a member of the Bible Presbyterian Church, West Chester. His wife died in 1959.
Surviving are three sons, Leroy, B., of Brandywine View; Harold W., of Scranton, and Clarence F., of Wilmington; two brothers Frank, of Goshen Heights and Harry of Malvern; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Speakman, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Mildred McDaniels, of Wilmington; Mrs. Nellie McVaugh, of Norristown; Mrs. Alice Wilson of Frazer, and Miss Jennie Hartshorne of Pocopson and 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
