Johan, Katrina and their son Ernest immigrated to America on the passenger ship SS Arabic. They arrived in Boston Massachusetts on 17 June 1905. Their destination was Murray Utah to join their son Karl Johan who had immigrated two years earlier in the year 1903. Johan and Katrina's daughter Bernhardina Lovisa who was married by then, stayed behind in Sweden with her husband and children.

Arriving in America both Johan and Katrina "Americanized" their names from Johan to John and Katrina Kristin to Christine Katheryn.

Sadly, it was only three months after John came to America that he passed away. According to John's death certificate, he died from Typhoid Fever which he may have contracted on the ship while immigrating to America. John passed away on September 20, 1905.

Christina lived with her sons Johan (John) in Murray Utah. Later after her eldest son John passed away she lived with her son Ernest and his wife and family until her death on January 28, 1935. Christine died at home from Bronchial Pneumonia.

(Along with Christine and John,Christine's sister Sophia Printz Hall and her
husband Carl Ed Hall immigrated to America as well.)
