Samuel E. Waterfield, 69, Route 4, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 1990, at Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia. He was born April 17, 1921, in Boonville, son of James M. and Dixie D. Lloyd Waterfield. On June 15, 1954, he married Velma Riley Childers, who died Jan. 14,1988. Mr. Waterfield had worked at Parkhurst .Manufacturing Co. and also worked at DeLongs, Inc., for 12 years as a steel fabricator. He was also a gunsmith and gun dealer. He served in thfrArmy Air Corps from 1940-45. He was a member of Granite Lodge No. 272, A F. and A M. Survivors include a stepdaughter, a brother, two sisters, four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ewing Funeral Home with the Rev. Orval Woolery officiating. Pallbearers will be Eddie Dougherty, Larry Waterfield, Myron Duenas, Bill Dorrance, Val Hoons and Carl Kullman. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be performed by Granite Lodge No. 272 A F. and A M at 8 tonight at the funeral home.
