Linda Lee McPherson Linda McPherson passed away suddenly on March 22, 2014, in Arlington, Washington, when a mud slide collapsed her home and devastated the community she loved. Linda is a local girl, born in Arlington on January 6, 1945 to George and Ethel Mahlum. She attended Darrington high school and furthered her education here at home at the University of Washington and earned her Bachelor's degree in Oceanography.

Linda married Gary (Mac) McPherson in Arlington on October 17, 1969. Together they had two children and raised them in the Arlington/Darrington Area. Linda retired in 2011 after spending 28 years as a Librarian at the Darrington Library, part of the Sno Isle Library system. She is a member of the Darrington School Board, University of Washington Alumni Association and Friends of The Library. Linda liked to travel and enjoyed trying new experiences. She spent most of her days gardening, reading and building furniture with her husband. Linda developed a serious talent for painting and devoted many enjoyable hours to her craft.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel Mahlum; brother, Stanley Mahlum; brother-in-laws, Ron Fucetti and Jerry Paul. Linda is survived by her husband, Gary (Mac) McPherson; son, Eric McPherson; and daughter, Kate McPherson; her siblings, Georgia Mahlum, Helen Paul, Alice and Bill Medin, Irene and Ralph Kuntz, Sylvia Fucetti-Caldwell and Mark Caldwell, Gerald and Shirley Mahlum; many nieces, nephews and even great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Linda's life on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave in Darrington, Washington.
