AUSTIN -- Argyl T. Askelson, 73, of Route 4, Austin, a retired construction worker and part-time farmer, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 1994) at St. Olaf Hospital.
Born March 17, 1920, in Hewitt, Minn., he graduated from Austin High School in 1938. He was married June 28, 1941, at Oakland Baptist Church. Mr. Askelson was a welder in the shipyards in California for five years and was employed by Lysne Construction Co. for 20 years. He enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; two sons, Richard of Sacramento Calif., and Steve of Austin; a daughter, Kathy Askelson of Austin; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Meyers of Rochester.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Ernest Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and an hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
