He was born on May 26, 1923. Mr. Chaney moved to Tyler from Abilene. He served in the navy on the USS Enterprise. He retired from Schlumberger Oil and also from Kelly-Springfield in Tyler. Mr. Chaney enjoyed traveling, but his first love was to bass fish on Lake Tyler. He also enjoyed bird hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years Dorothy Chaney; and daughter-in-law Dwanah Chaney. He is survived by daughter and sons-in-law Jan and Larry Gresham of Kilgore, Marsha and David Wright of Chandler; son Don Chaney of Whitehouse; five grandchildren and fourteen great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Liles, Heath McMichael, Craig Liles, Larry Gresham, David Wright, and Ray Collins. Honorary pallbearer will be Wade Baton.
