Funeral services for Jo Evelyn Walea Comte, age 75, of Kirbyville, Texas will be 2pm Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.
Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
Jo died at her home on Sunday, March 30, 2014.
A native of Orange, Texas and a former resident of Jasper she spent the past 50 years living in Kirbyville.
A 1957 graduate of Jasper High School she married Bobby Comte in 1958. A dedicated housewife and mother she loved her family and took her responsibilities of being a mother and wife seriously. She enjoyed raising African Violets and collecting glass chickens and reading. She was a longtime member of The Kirbyville Eastern Star Chapter #1143.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years Bobby Ray Comte of Kirbyville, daughters Debbie Breaux and husband Mike of Rayburn Country, Sharon Kaine and Stephanie Herrin and husband Todd all of Kirbyville, six grandchildren Stacie Albrecht, Amy Bainbridge, Ashley Dotson, Brooke Herrin, Bret Herrin and Steven Comte, three great grandchildren Aspen Albrecht, Gavin Albrecht and Slade Albrecht.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Warren Walea, her mother Ella Mae Walea, a sister Elsie Mae Watson and a son Bobby Joe "Bucky" Comte (FAG mem 103737326).
