He worked as a body man most of his life, until his health prevented him from doing so. He sang in a Gospel Quartet as a bass singer, in the group called the Comforters. He loved to sing, boat and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Tyrone Hefner.
Survivors include his sisters, Iris June Dieckman of Aurora, Meldona Bryan of Boaz, Alabama and Gwen Sims of Boaz, Alabama, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
