Death of Two Pioneers Last Night.
James Rose died last night about 7 o'clock at the home of his son, J. R. Rose, south of Whitney, and will be buried at Prairie Valley cemetery this afternoon. He had been sick with la grippe only since last Tuesday night, but being nearly 92 years old he could not endure much sickness. "Uncle Jimmie" as he was familiarly known, had lived in this section 40 or 50 years, and his death will be learned with regret by all our people.
Mrs. N. R. Gilmore died at 3:20 o'clock this morning at her home south of town from lung trouble, and will be buried in the Prairie Valley cemetery this afternoon. She was another of our old settlers and, her death is universally regretted.
