Harvey Perry Trimble apparently preferred to be known by his middle name, which may be why simply "Perry Trimble" appears on his headstone and in many other records.
He was married Dec. 15, 1874 in Powell County, Kentucky to Amanda Yocum. Their marriage bond indicates that he was 18 at the time and working as a farmer. His parents were Harvey Trimble and Harriet Brush, of Virginia. He had four children with Amanda: Hattie J. Trimble, Mary Elizabeth Trimble, John Trimble (whom we believe died in infancy), and the youngest, John Prewitt Trimble, my great-great-grandfather.
His death certificate lists his occupation as "retired merchant." He died on January 25, 1936, at 2:00 a.m. at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 6 days.
