A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church for Mrs. Laura C Derge, 82, a Marshfield resident who died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice care unit. The Rev. Leonard Kaiser will It officiate. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist for the Church Choir. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today and again Saturday until service time at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel. St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be at 4 today followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary service at 7:30, and St. John's Parish prayer service at 7:45. She was born Laura Gruber May 13, 1905, in Marshfield, where she attended St. John's Parochial School and McKinley High School. She was married to Reuben M. Derge Aug. 25, 1930, at St. John's Catholic Church. They owned and operated Derge's hotel, restaurant, and grocery business on St. Joseph Avenue from 1930-1951. They resided on W. Kalsched Street. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Patricia) Newcomb of Milwaukee and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Marshfield; three sons, Richard, John, and Joseph, all of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Mary Scypher of Glendale, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband on April 26, 1978, a daughter, Carol in 1944, her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
