Rev. William "Bill" Stanturf, an 81 year old Trenton, MO resident, left his earthly home at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his residence where he was under hospice care.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Half Rock Cemetery at Half Rock, MO. A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 7 Saturday evening at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Memorial donations are suggested to the Grand Oaks Baptist Assembly and may be left with the funeral home.
William Henry Stanturf was born March 20, 1933 near Half Rock, MO to Wade and Helen (Gibson) Stanturf. He attended the Princeton schools. On September 14, 1951 he was united in marriage to Elaine Wells in Princeton, MO. He became an ordained Baptist minister on October 2, 1955 and spent more than 50 years working in the gospel Ministry. Over the years, Rev. Stanturf pastored at several churches in north Missouri as well as serving as Interim Missionary for North Grand River Baptist Association. Bill truly loved his family and serving his Lord and Savior.
Surviving relatives include his wife Elaine of the home, three daughters Patty Sawyer and her husband Vernon of Laredo, MO, Linda Washburn and her husband Charles of Kearney, MO, and Becky Stanturf of Trenton, MO, three sisters Mildred Robinson of Trenton, Joy Brown of Princeton, MO and Nelda Hobbs of Princeton, a brother-in-law Danny Wells of Ankeny, IA, four grandchildren Angela Covert and her husband Phil of Las Vegas, NV, Amy Brose and her husband David of Kansas City, MO, Scott Washburn and his wife Kim of Trenton, and Monica Epperson and her husband Jeremy of Chillicothe, MO, and 11 great-grandchildren Isaac, Libby Ellie and Rylee Washburn, Tayler and Spencer Epperson, Ava and Anna Brose, and Clayton, Mason and Carson Radcliff.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, an infant son William Harvey and a daughter Judith Ann.
