Henry is the firstborn child of Hans Poulsen and Sophia Wengelin. His six young siblings are Peter Cornelius, Matilda Sophia, Andrew Walderman, Joseph Emil, George Oscar, and Louis Albert.
Henry grew up in Plain City and married Edith Josephine Thomson on December 28, 1903 in Weber County, Utah. They became parents to three daughters: Gladys Sophia, Thelma Hyramine, and Beatrice Evelana.
Gladys was born and died while they were in Plain City and then the family moved to Weiser, Idaho when Henry worked for the railroad. He and Edith lived in Weiser the rest of their lives. Edith died about two month before Henry. He died of chronic heart problems.

Funeral services for Henry Poulsen, of Weiser, Idaho, and former resident of Plain City, Utah, will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary, 125 North Main Street. Interment in the City Cemetery.
