Theresa Fox Carter, 88, of Hudson, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in Burke County. She was born April 26, 1923 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late JaVan Fox and Lola Barber. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Hudson, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Berlie L. Carter; her son Terry J. Carter; a brother, Clenard Fox; and two sisters, Irene Dyson and Christine Coons. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Carter Wood of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, Michael L. Carter and his wife, Janice; a brother, Thad Fox; three grandchildren, Tara W. Plummer and her husband Charlie, LaShae C. Wright and her husband Jamie, and Allison C. Bley; six great-grandchildren, Rayna Plummer, Heather Wright, Cameron Wright, Landrie Wright, Peyton Bley, and Carter Bley; one step greatgrandchild, Charlie Plummer III. The funeral service was held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Mackie High Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Hamby officiating. Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery in Hudson. Mackie-High Funeral Home of Granite Falls was in charge of arrangements.
