Cleona Ruth Liston passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, her savior, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the age of 95. She was reunited with her husband, her mother and father, her son, her grandson, aunts, uncles and friends. Cleona was born September 29, 1918 in Ridgeway, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Elmer Liston; her parents Charles and Grace Collier from Kane, PA; her son Robert Liston from Collinsville, VA; her grandson Christopher Scott Smith from Barboursville, WV; her son-in-law Lowell Miller from North Augusta, SC; three sisters; and two brothers.

Cleona is survived by her children Connie Combs of Huntington, WV, Sonny Clayton Liston and daughter-in-law Marilyn from Crown, PA, Charles Liston and daughter-in-law Patty from Barboursville, WV, Peggy Miller from North Augusta, SC, Sandra Liston Roy and son-in-law Richard Roy from South Point, Ohio, Aileen Taylor and son-in-law David of Barboursville, WV; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren; and a very treasured and loved younger sister who now will be the last in the family Virginia Grace Collier of South Point, Ohio.

She attended Kane High School in Kane, PA. She worked during high school as a seamstress at the Blair Dress Factory and her favorite job was working as a school cook for 17 years at the South Point School District. She had a heart of gold and her caring nature influenced the many lives she touched every day. Cleonas Church , the Sybene Missionary Baptist Church, was always in her heart, where she was a member for 50 years, their longest attending member, also singing in the church choir for many years, taught Sunday School and cooked for Vacation Bible School. She was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed. Cleonas other love was the Sybene Senior Citizens Center where she attended for 20 years and sang in the choir, went on group trips, played pool and she even had her own pool stick. She also painted in the ceramics room for 20 years. All her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have pieces of ceramics from Cleona that they will treasure forever!

Cleona was called Granny by everyone -young and old. She never met a stranger and was a true friend to all! She leaves a host of loved ones, extended family and friends who will love her in their hearts and memories forever. The family extends a very special thank you to Cleonas caregivers; her daughter Sandy Liston Roy and a very special granddaughter Karrie Boggs without them mother would never have lived as long as she did.
