Wayne W. Austin, 87, of Bellingham, WA passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014. Wayne was born in Bellingham, Washington, on March 5, 1927, to the late Lulu and Walter Austin. Wayne graduated from Auburn Seventh-day Adventist Academy in 1945, received his bachelors degree from Walla Walla College (now Walla Walla University) in 1949 and from Loma Linda University in 1958. He met his wife, Ann Roberts, in Hawaii and married in 1979.

Wayne was a beloved member of the community and served his community for 60 years. He was passionate about many things but first and foremost was his love for his Lord and Savior, whom he shared with those he came in contact with. His mission field was the years he practiced as a physician. He enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus with his patients, who he considered his extended family. He was an avid sailor, skier, and bicyclist but had many other interests which included taking pictures to catalog his life experiences, music, airplanes, antiques, traveling to Hawaii, cars and the great outdoors.
.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lulu Payne Austin, his brother Lloyd W. Austin and sister Mildred Austin Kehoe. He is survived by wife Ann Roberts Austin, nephew Bill Jordan, niece Roberta Roberts Johnson; three children, Greg Austin, Jill Austin, Jana Austin Jacobson; nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

**Bio provided from Moles Farewell Tributes website*********

Wayne was my uncle and he was so many things to so many people: Doctor, Friend, Wise listening ear Teller of MANY jokes and always the rock of our family.

I remember my mother telling me her mother was none too pleased to discover she was pregnant again @ 41 when she thought she was feeling "off" due to the change of life.

Pretty much from the time he was born, my mother had to look after him and when he got older and into the pesky brother stage, she was made to take him everywhere she went with her friends. She told me that she made him make the "Pelican Face" if he was going to hang around.

Wayne and my mother had a special bond all their lives and he would rarely tell her "NO" for whatever she asked. He was like her 1st son so she was protective of him.

Wayne loved a good joke, playing pranks, adored Halloween like no adult I have ever known. He wore Old Spice and later in life wore Lagerfeld Cologne. He adored popcicles ("It's just frozen juice"), Rum Frangos and Zots candies.

Whenever anyone in the family had a medical malady- we called Wayne and he'd tell us what do to feel better or show up with shots on his visits.

I loved him so much and will miss him every day. He had a good long run and made a lot of people happy.
