West Boulder Crash Kills 4 Young People
Boulder - Summary
A convertible carrying 4 persons to their death shot off the highway below the mouth of Boulder Canyon at midnight, Wed, 16 Feb 1955. Two others were injured, all were from Boulder in their early 20's.
Fatal victims were Donna Mae Christ, 21; Joe Stanley, 23; Don Gillihan, 21; Robert H Smith, 21. Gillihan died in a hospital 3 hours after the crash and Smith Thursday. Injured were Harley Bradford Jr, 22 and James R Luzmoor, 23. The car belonged to Bradford, but it hasn't been determined who was driving.
A State Patrol officer said the car came off a slight curve on the West Arapahoe Ave approach to Boulder Canyon, all were tossed out of the car.
Stanley had lost a leg and eye in the Korean War, Bradford recently returned from service in Korea, Gillihan from Army services in Italy.
Records show that Bradford's license has twice been suspended, in 1951-1952, the last time 2 Dec.

Boulder Driver Gets Jail Sentence for Wreck Killing Four
