Ancel "Dale" Jones, age 76, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014. at Baptist Health Corbin in Corbin, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Estle Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Coffey Cemetery at Ritner, Kentucky. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones was born at Ritner, Kentucky, on April 3, 1937, to the late Oliver and Molly (Branscum) Jones. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Zora Jones and four brothers; R.L. Jones, Forrest Jones, Wendell Jones and Conley Jones.

Surviving family include two sons; Rosevell Jones of Whitley City and Ardell Jones of Jones Hollow, Kentucky, two brothers; Obey Jones of Oberlin, Ohio and Ledford Ray Jones of Junction City, Kentucky, three sisters; Irene Worley of Jones Hollow, Nela Fay Jones of Waynesburg, Kentucky, and Vellane Cross, of Junction City, Kentucky. He had seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Mr. Jones was a self-employed logger and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was digging ginseng.
