Mrs. Elizabeth Haynie Tracy, a resident of Springfield most of her life, died yesterday at Mercy hospital in Pittsfield, Mass., where she was taken after becoming ill while visiting in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Tracy was the widow of W. W. Tracy, Springfield banker and, at the time of his death, counselor to the Copley Press. Mr. Tracy died last August in Pittsfield, which is near the Tracy summer home at Williamstown, Mass.

Mrs. Tracy was the daughter of Gen. I. N. Haynie of Civil war prominence. The Haynie residence for many years was the one now occupied by Thomas Vredenburgh on S. Sixth St. and adjoined the residence of Mr. Tracy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Tracy which stood on the northwest corner of Sixth and Allen Sts.

Although Mr. and Mrs. Tracy had spent considerable time in recent years in travel, they contined to claim Springfield as their legal residence and spent some time here each year. During the last several years they had maintained their residence at Hotel Leland.

Children of Mrs. Tracy are Franklin W. Tracy of New York City, and Mrs. Harold T. Commons, of Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. A. J. Lester, of Hotel Leland, is a sister of the late Mr. Tracy.
