He was born James William Hester had his name changed legaly to McBride after second marriage.James William McBride (aka William James Hester) passed away at his Rimrock Ranch home on September 27, 2010. He was born on June 9, 1933, in Running Lake, Arkansas, to William and Inez Hester and was raised and schooled in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

He proudly served his country as a US Marine, including Korea, until he was honorably discharged in 1955. He ventured to California where he attended Long Beach State and established and worked several businesses.

He met his future wife, Judy, in San Jose and they were married in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on December 18, 1972. They moved to Scottsdale in 1973, purchased the Rimrock Ranch property in 1974, and have permanently resided there since 1977.

Jim had always been active in civic organizations in California and was a charter member and President of the Montezuma-Rimrock Kiwanis Club (currently named Beaver Creek Kiwanis) and enjoyed being involved in community activities and helping people any way he could.

He loved the outdoors and thought the only thing lacking on his property was an ocean view. He had a charming, strong, and wonderful personality that will not be easily forgotten. He felt fortunate and blessed for each day on this earth, believing strongly in God's guidance and in his Savior Jesus Christ.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy, his brother, Robert Hester of Surprise, AZ, loved ones Brian, Rose, Shadrienne and James, Charlin, Shelby and Amy, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Private services will be held at a later time. Donations can be made in Jim's memory to Beaver Creek School, 4810 E. Beaver Creek Rd., Rimrock, AZ 86335, or to Hospice Compassus, 70 Bell Rock Plaza, Suite A, Sedona, AZ 86351.
